Our Story

Founded in 2005, Rugby Bareboards Trust has spent 20 years making sure no one in our community has to face an empty home. In that time, we’ve supported over 2000 families and individuals, people on low incomes, survivors of abuse, refugees, young people leaving care, and those moving on from homelessness. What we provide is simple, furniture, soft furnishings, household goods, and small electricals, but what it means is profound: dignity, comfort, and the chance to rebuild a life with hope.

Our Mission

On average, we help around 10 – 20 families every month, turning bare rooms into homes. A child finally has a real bed. A family gathers around a table. Someone starting again has a sofa to rest on, or a lamp to light their space. Working with partners like Rugby Refuge, P3, YMCA, Hope4, social services, women’s refuges, and local councils, we make sure support reaches the people who need it most. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to restore dignity, reduce waste, and bring warmth back into lives through the power of community.

Our Shop

From timeless antiques and quirky retro pieces to modern furniture, homeware, and small electricals, there’s always something exciting to be found. Every item is carefully checked, cleaned, and given a second life, ready to bring joy to a new home.

How it works

Donate

We collect good quality unwanted furniture, household items, kitchen ware, electrical appliances and gardening equipment that are kindly donated to us

Check

These items are checked and tested as required and then distributed to people in need within the community,

social services, Hope 4, Rugby Children’s services, YMCA, Futures unlocked, Women’s refuge, and Warwickshire and Rugby councils,

Applicants are asked for a small donation towards this service.
